Inside Jujumade's Magical Mount Washington Studio

Inside Jujumade's Magical Mount Washington Studio

Having studied Industrial Design at Pasadena's prestigious Art Center College of Design, Juliana Hung injects her jewelry and accessories line Jujumade with playful, adjustable details that make her pieces as fun as they are functional. Besides having been worn by goddess of everything stylish and cool, Solange, Hung's products also happen to be sold by some pretty prestigious stockists including Garmentory, Myrtle, and Individual Medley. All that said, it's pretty impressive that the designer still handles most of the creative process herself in her home studio in scenic Mount Washington.

We got to take a look inside Hung's live/work space, which boasts a stunning city view and plant-filled porch (conducive to creativity, contemplative moments, and coffee clutching) where she gave us a sneak peek at some of her latest projects and shared a bit of her daily design routine.

"My usual routine is to make a cup of coffee in my kitchen then migrate to the studio to check my emails and work on orders. Throughout the day I am either listening to music or playing some movie or series in the background on my computer. I like some kind of noise to keep me going through the day, it's like having the TV on when you are traveling alone and sleeping in a hotel room. I just don't want to feel completely alone."

"I don't really have a strict design process, I try to create new things as I think of them; sometimes I revisit parts that I've created in the past and that sparks new ideas."

"As for the future, I might add some home objects. I plan on continuing to expand my current selection, adding and taking away what I find doesn't work as well."
